Cost of Hiring a Cleaner in Karachi: What to Expect in 2026

There is no fixed price list for hiring a cleaner in Karachi, and honestly there cannot be one. A Clifton high-rise household wanting three two-hour visits a week for floors and surfaces is paying for something completely different from a Gulshan-e-Iqbal joint family that needs a live-in cleaner covering a full daily routine across a larger independent house. Any agency that hands you a single rate sheet is flattening those differences, and the number tends to either undershoot what an experienced cleaner actually costs or quietly get revised upward once the real scope comes out.
The more useful question is what drives the cost, and how to get a real number for your specific situation rather than a ballpark that does not hold.
Why a cleaner's cost in Karachi varies so much
Karachi is the largest household staffing market in the country, and demand is not evenly distributed. Clifton and Defence have a high concentration of high-rise apartments where live-out, fixed-visit arrangements dominate, because most of those buildings do not have staff quarters. Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Malir, and the older independent-house neighborhoods have more room for live-in staff, which changes both the daily scope and the monthly figure. The same job title, "cleaner," can mean very different things depending on which of those settings you happen to be in.
That local variation is exactly why we do not publish a flat rate. The price a household ends up paying is built up from a few specific factors, and those factors shift the relative cost meaningfully even within the same city.
The real cost factors
Experience level. A cleaner who has spent years working in Clifton and Defence high-rises, who is comfortable with building security registration and knows how to handle the surfaces and fixtures typical of those apartments, sits at the higher end of the range. A first-time or less experienced worker, or someone moving into the city from an informal domestic setup, costs less but usually needs more hand-holding in the first weeks. Experience is the single biggest driver of the monthly figure.
Live-in versus live-out. Live-out cleaners in Karachi are far more common, especially in apartment blocks, and they work fixed visits at a set number of hours per week. The cost here is usually quoted per visit or per month for a defined schedule. Live-in arrangements, where they exist, come with a broader daily routine, availability across most of the day, and the household providing room and board, so the cash compensation is structured differently. In Karachi specifically, live-in is the exception rather than the default, because most high-rise buildings simply do not have the space for it.
City demand and neighborhood. Karachi's demand runs higher than in most other cities we cover, and within the city, Clifton and Defence tend to carry a premium because of building access requirements and the general cost profile of those areas. A placement in a quieter residential pocket is not directly comparable, even for the same scope of work.
Scope of duties. A cleaner handling only floors, dusting, and surfaces costs less than one who also takes on kitchen cleaning, bathrooms, periodic deep cleaning, or light organization. The more a household bundles into the daily routine, the more the worker's own monthly compensation shifts upward. This is also where most price list estimates go wrong, because two households describing the job as "cleaning" often mean genuinely different workloads.
What our placement fee covers versus the cleaner's monthly compensation
This is the part most households want clarity on. There are two separate numbers involved, and confusing them is what makes pricing feel opaque.
The cleaner's own monthly compensation is paid directly by the household to the worker, on whatever schedule you agree, usually monthly. That figure is shaped by the factors above and is settled once the scope is clear. We do not take a cut of the worker's monthly pay.
Our placement fee is separate and covers the work that happens before the worker ever sets foot in your home: CNIC and address verification, reference checks with previous employers, a personal interview, and a punctuality and reliability track record review. It also covers the shortlisting itself, matching a candidate to your property type and schedule, coordinating the trial period, and the replacement guarantee that follows. If a placement does not settle in during the early weeks, we go back to the shortlist and arrange a replacement rather than asking you to start the search over or pay again.
So when you ask what a cleaner costs, the answer is really two answers: the one-time placement fee for the verified, backed-up placement, and the ongoing monthly compensation the worker earns. We are upfront about both.
How seasonal demand shifts cost
Karachi has two predictable demand peaks that nudge relative costs upward. The monsoon stretch brings more requests for frequent cleaning, since floors and surfaces need more attention in high humidity, and households that had a lighter schedule often want to step it up. The weeks leading into Eid are the bigger one, with a rush of deep-cleaning bookings before family visits. In both windows, good cleaners get booked earlier and the available pool tightens, which tends to push compensation expectations up slightly compared to the quieter months.
If you are flexible on timing, booking just outside these peaks, say a few weeks before the monsoon rather than during it, usually means a smoother shortlist and a more settled negotiation. If you have to hire during a peak, telling us a couple of weeks in advance makes a real difference, because we can line up candidates before the pool tightens rather than scrambling alongside everyone else.
Getting an exact quote
The fastest way to move from a general sense of cost to an actual number is to send us the specifics on WhatsApp. We need a handful of details to quote accurately: your area within Karachi, whether the property is a high-rise apartment or an independent house, the number of hours or visits per week you have in mind, whether you want live-in or live-out, and the scope of duties beyond basic cleaning. With those, we can give you the placement fee and a realistic range for the cleaner's monthly compensation based on current demand and the candidates we actually have available, not a generic figure.
Message us on WhatsApp with your area and cleaning requirements, and we will come back with a real quote, not a price list.
If your Karachi household also needs a cook, helper, driver, or security guard, we can shortlist multiple roles together so you are running one hiring process instead of several. See our full Karachi coverage for everything else we place across the city.
